Your notes stay on your Mac.
Deckleaf is designed as local-first software. The app has no Deckleaf account, advertising, analytics, telemetry, or tracking.
Effective August 3, 2026
Information the app handles
Deckleaf stores local notes, image attachments, preferences, boards, colors, pins, archives, reminders, checklists, saved views, and a searchable index in its macOS sandbox container. This information is used only to provide features you choose inside the app.
Optional Anki connection
If you choose to use Anki integration, Deckleaf initiates a connection to the AnkiConnect add-on at 127.0.0.1:8765 on the same Mac. Note fields, tags, deck names, card identifiers, and local Anki media may pass between Deckleaf and AnkiConnect. Deckleaf does not send that content to a Deckleaf server or cloud account.
Data collection and sharing
The Deckleaf app does not collect personal data, track activity, create advertising profiles, sell information, or share note content with the developer or data brokers. It does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
Website
This website does not use advertising pixels or product analytics. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as an IP address and browser headers, to deliver and protect the site. Deckleaf does not use that operational information to identify visitors or connect it to app content.
Control and deletion
You can edit or delete local notes at any time. Clearing the Anki note cache removes Deckleaf’s indexed copies without changing Anki. Removing Deckleaf through macOS and deleting its app container removes its remaining local data. Anki-originated content must also be managed in Anki when you want it removed there.
Security
The Mac App Store build uses App Sandbox. Network access is limited to outgoing connections required for optional local AnkiConnect interoperability. Deckleaf sanitizes displayed card HTML and does not execute downloaded code.
Children and changes
Deckleaf is a general productivity tool and does not knowingly collect information from children. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a revised effective date.
